Atlantis, FL – Palm Beach Central High School senior and South Florida PGA Junior Tour member Logan Rohack is the 2021 recipient of the South Florida PGA Foundation Scholarship.
The Palm Beach Central High School Salutatorian and Wellington native plans to attend the University of Florida to pursue a degree in finance or accounting.
“I knew the call would only bring good or bad news, so I was very relieved when I found out it was the first one,” said Rohack on receiving the scholarship news.
First distributed in 2017, the South Florida PGA Foundation scholarship supports one high school senior who is connected in any way to the golf community with their future educational endeavors. The SFPGA Foundation Scholarship aims to lessen the financial burden for a student that excels in academics, community service and leadership.
The $20,000 scholarship, which will be distributed in four increments of $5,000, will allow Rohack to spend more time focused on his higher education, rather than worrying about the burdens of financing his degree.
“I am very appreciative that the SFPGA selected me for this scholarship,” explained Rohack. “I am also thankful for all the events they host because without these I wouldn’t have been able to continue playing competitive golf. With the SFPGA Foundation supporting me in college, I am very optimistic of what's to come in these next four years.”
Rohack is the fourth recipient of the SFPGA Foundation Scholarship. This fall, there will be a Foundation Scholar in every college grade level, with Rohack joining a group of students who continue to volunteer their time, lead additional organizations, play golf and work to change lives within their local community.
Rohack is set to graduate from Palm Beach Central High School in June and plans to celebrate with a round of golf. Looking forward to the independence college provides, Rohack plans to enjoy his entire collegiate experience playing golf and giving back to his community.
About the South Florida PGA Foundation Scholarship
The South Florida PGA Foundation Scholarship was created to annually provide one local student with a four-year, $20,000 scholarship to assist with their college education. The recipient is chosen based on their merit in scholarship, community service, leadership and overall representation of self. The student selected to receive the scholarship will receive it in $5,000 increments over the course of four years. To receive funding each year, additional paperwork including a copy of the student’s transcript must be submitted to the SFPGA Foundation to ensure the student is performing at an acceptable level.
