Boca Raton, FL - The South Florida PGA hosted the 11th Annual South Florida PGA Tire Kingdom Charity Pro-Am today, raising over $31,000 for the SFPGA Foundation, the charitable arm of the South Florida PGA.
This year, 12 teams comprised of three amateurs and a PGA Professional took to St. Andrew’s Country Club (Fazio Course) to participate in a one net, one gross combined competition.
PGA Professional, Jack Shoenfelt of Oriole Golf and Tennis Club, paired with amateurs Harry Tempkins, Alan Tempkins and Alan Matus to claim first-place honors.
Beyond the golf, the money raised will go a long way in serving the south Florida community.

Created in 2010, Smiling FORE Life is a program in which PGA Professionals visit local children’s hospitals bringing golf into children’s lives who may be experiencing hardships, and afford them an opportunity to forget about those struggles they are enduring and enjoy some fun.
Since 2010, the program has served over 1,100 patients from five different facilities. Since 2011, the South Florida PGA Foundation has supported Habitat for Humanity with the goal of building 15 homes for families across the South Florida area, as well as, Puerto Rico. Currently, nine houses have been built and supported thus far.
