Paul Scaletta, PGA Assistant Golf Professional at The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, will compete in his second Honda Classic this week at PGA National Golf Resort & Spa. Scaletta received an exemption as a result of winning the 2014 South Florida PGA Player of the Year point’s race.
In 2014, Scaletta finished in the top-ten in the South Florida Open (T4), Fort Lauderdale Open (5) and the Florida Open (T7), but his victory at the SFPGA Professional Championship/Section Championship was the highlight of his 2014 season. With a victory in this year’s SFPGA Professional Championship/Section Championship, Scaletta also earned the opportunity to compete in the 2015 PGA Professional National Championship to be held at The Philadelphia Cricket Club this June, along with a spot in the 2015 Puerto Rico Open.
Scaletta says this as he prepares for the upcoming event, “I am both honored and blessed to have the opportunity to play in this year’s tournament. I feel comfortable and confident about my game. If I can handle my nerves, stay in the present and go through the process, I will be successful.”
Scaletta will tee off at 8:35 AM off #1 on Thursday, February 26th. We wish Paul the best of luck. For more information and live scoring click here.
