BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Kevin Compare and Richard Terga won the South Florida PGA Senior-Junior Championship for the second time in three years when Compare, the senior member of the team, chipped in for birdie on the second hole of a playoff Wednesday at The Links at Boynton Beach. Both instructors at the John Webster Golf Academy at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Compare and Terga outlasted Gene Fieger and Justin Bertsch of Hideout Golf Club in Naples after they tied at nine under par 62 in the mixed format event. Compare’s winning chip was from about 17 feet. In 2010, Compare and Terga shot 60 and won by three strokes. They did not play as a team last year. It was Terga’s third SFPGA title, including the Assistants Championship last year, the second Section victory for Compare. In addition to his duties at Webster’s, Compare also performs trick shot and comedy shows as Divot the Clown. Brian Peaper and Jason Hrynkiw, the 2011 winners with 61, shot 63 Wednesday and tied for third. The 11th annual team event, which drew 58 teams and returned more than $20,000 in prize money, was presented by Cutter & Buck with support from Global Golf Sales and the host club.
